Dried Flower Care Tips
With proper care your dried flowers will last a long time.
Follow these helpful tips to get the most out of your dried floral arrangements.
-
Dried flowers are more fragile due to their dried nature, so once you have decided where to place your arrangement in a vase, it is best to keep them in there permanent spot.
-
Keep your flowers in a cool, dry place and out of rooms with moisture, such as a bathroom or kitchen. Make sure it has good access to airflow and particularly important to keep them in a cool spot in the warmer months.
-
Whilst the colours will fade over time, be sure to keep them out of direct sunlight as otherwise your blooms will start to fade much quicker than they should.
-
The biggest mistake people make is thinking dried flowers need water. They don't require any water otherwise the stems will become flimsy and mould will seep in.
-
To keep them dust free, gently use a small feather duster or cloth. Remember dried flowers are more delicate than real ones, so care must be taken.
-
Don't forget your vase. Be sure no moisture has been created inside and keep clean with a cloth.
-
Be sure to keep your dried flowers away from young children and pets. Some dried flowers, like lavender, will shed over time or some flowers will lose their petals or leaves.
-
Remember to check if your dried floral arrangement contains any poisonous flowers to pets. Even when dried, lavender still contains toxic elements for pets.
Lastly, enjoy your dried flowers.
